Melania Trump was rushed to the hospital on Monday to have kidney surgery, and she is set to remain at Walter Reed Medical Center all week. Now, she has broken her silence to let the American people know how she is doing.

“A sincere thank you to Walter Reed Medical Unit @WRBethesda & to all who have send good wishes & prayers! I am feeling great & look forward to getting back home @WhiteHouse soon,” Melania tweeted on Wednesday, according to USA Today.

President Donald Trump visited Melania at the hospital on Tuesday and gave an update about her overall health on Twitter.

“Our great First Lady is doing really well. Will be leaving hospital in 2 or 3 days. Thank you for so much love and support!” Trump tweeted.

Melania’s office released a brief statement explaining her hospitalization right after she had her surgery.

“This morning, First Lady Melania Trump underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition.  The procedure was successful and there were no complications.  Mrs. Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely remain there for the duration of the week.  The First Lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere,” the statement said.

No further details have been released about Melania’s “benign” kidney condition, but many fear that it is more serious than the White House is saying  given the fact that she is staying in the hospital all week to recover.
