Before Donald Trump took office, many Hollywood liberal elites swore they would leave the country if he won, but almost none of them followed through with their promises. Now, however, it appears that one Hollywood star is planning to put his money where his mouth is and pack his bags!

The Daily Caller reported that Matt Damon is preparing to move to Australia largely to get away from Trump. He has already bought a home in Byron Bay, New South Wales, where he plans to relocate his wife and four children.

“Matt’s telling friends and colleagues in Hollywood that he’s moving the family to Australia,” because he disagrees with the president’s policies, a source told Page Six. “Matt’s saying the move will not impact his work — as he will travel to wherever his projects are shooting. He’s also telling friends he wants to have a safe place to raise his kids.”

Damon has been a longtime critic of Trump, as he spoke out to bash him before he won the election in 2016.

“It makes me nervous,” Damon said of the possibility that Trump would win the presidency. “It’s a binary choice…. There’s no way we can let this guy be the [president]. To let that dude have the nuclear football, are you kidding me? That’s dangerous. He’s impulsive and rash, and doesn’t seem to think deeply about too many things.”

After Trump won, Damon said he wished him well for the sake of the U.S. as a nation.

“Obviously, it’s no secret that I didn’t vote for him. And yeah, I think there is a sense of we are heading into new territory here,” Damon said. “He is obviously not a career politician, he has been very occupied with his own business interest, which are relatively narrow given the scope of what a president actually has to deal with, so I imagine he is really working hard right now to master so many sectors. He’s just got a lot of work cut out for him.”

It seems Damon is not happy with the work Trump has done, however, as he now feels the need to flee from him. Good riddance to you, Matt Damon, and good luck down under!
